OVERVIEW & INTRODUCTION

India's Most Iconic Journey

If there is one journey that has captivated the imagination of travellers from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and across Europe for generations - it is the Golden Triangle India Tour. Three extraordinary cities. One unforgettable route. A complete introduction to the world's most vivid civilisation.

From the Mughal grandeur of Old Delhi to the eternal white marble of the Taj Mahal in Agra, and onward into the regal pink-walled splendour of Jaipur, this is India distilled into six perfect days. A journey that answers every question first-time visitors ask, and creates a hundred new ones.

This is not a rushed group tour. Your private air-conditioned car, your English-speaking expert, and your own pace. We are UK India Tourism and we do this properly.

"Three cities. Three dynasties. Three thousand years of history — woven into six unforgettable days across the heartland of India."

The term Golden Triangle was coined by travel writers to describe the near-perfect triangular route connecting Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, three corners of India's most storied region. Together they represent the Mughal Empire at its peak, the Rajput warriors at their most magnificent, and a living, breathing modern India that has absorbed every chapter of that history and made it gloriously, colourfully its own.

Your Complete 6-Day Journey

DAY1

DELHI ARRIVAL

Welcome to India - Your Journey Begins

Your adventure begins the moment you land at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Our private representative will meet you with a warm welcome and transfer you to your hotel in comfort.

Once settled, the capital of India opens its arms. Explore India Gate, the majestic war memorial at the heart of New Delhi, the President's House (Rashtrapati Bhavan), the astronomical wonder of Jantar Mantar, and the vibrant artisan market of Delhi Haat. As evening falls, the colonnaded elegance of Connaught Place and the bustle of Janpath Market await.

✦ Private airport pickup from IGI International Airport

✦ India Gate, Rajpath & President's House

✦ Jantar Mantar - the 18th-century astronomical observatory

✦ Delhi Haat - India's finest handicrafts market

✦ Connaught Place & Janpath Market shopping

DAY2

OLD DELHI & NEW DELHI

From Mughal Bazaars to UNESCO Wonders

Today Delhi reveals its extraordinary layered soul. Begin in Old Delhi, the majestic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of towering red sandstone, overlooks the spice-scented chaos of Chandni Chowk, one of Asia's oldest and most atmospheric markets.

Then cross into New Delhi for two more UNESCO World Heritage Sites that take the breath away: the geometric perfection of Humayun's Tomb - the architectural forerunner of the Taj Mahal — and the soaring 73-metre tower of the Qutab Minar complex, the tallest brick minaret in the world. Delhi is not a single city; it is twelve cities layered upon each other across the centuries.

✦ Red Fort (Lal Qila) - UNESCO World Heritage Site

✦ Chandni Chowk market - Old Delhi's legendary bazaar

✦ Humayun's Tomb - UNESCO World Heritage Site

✦ Qutab Minar complex - UNESCO World Heritage Site

✦ National Museum - 5,000 years of Indian civilisation

DAY3

DELHI → AGRA

The Taj Mahal - The World's Greatest Love Story

This is the day every traveller to India dreams of. The early drive along the Yamuna Expressway builds the anticipation and then, through the great arched gateway, the Taj Mahal appears in its full, impossible, heart-stopping perfection.

Built by Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632 and 1653 as an eternal tribute to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this UNESCO World Heritage marvel is arguably the most beautiful building on earth. The afternoon brings the towering red sandstone walls of Agra Fort — where Shah Jahan himself was imprisoned in his final years with only a distant view of his masterpiece across the river.

✦ Taj Mahal — UNESCO World Heritage Site (sunrise or sunset visit)

✦ Agra Fort — UNESCO World Heritage Site

✦ Marble handicraft markets & Agra souvenirs

✦ Yamuna Expressway scenic drive from Delhi (~3 hours)

DAY4

AGRA → JAIPUR VIA FATEHPUR SIKRI

The Ghost City & the Road to the Pink City

The journey to Jaipur carries a spectacular detour - the abandoned Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri, a red sandstone ghost town frozen in the 16th century. Built by Emperor Akbar and deserted within a generation (reportedly due to water shortage), it remains one of the most atmospheric and poetic places in all of India. The Buland Darwaza, the Gate of Victory is one of the world's great doorways.

By evening you arrive in Jaipur, the legendary Pink City of Rajasthan - a world of royal turbans, embroidered textiles, blazing jewellery bazaars, and palatial havelis glowing in the amber light.

✦ Fatehpur Sikri - the abandoned Mughal capital

✦ Buland Darwaza - the 54-metre Gate of Victory

✦ Arrival in Jaipur, the Pink City

✦ Evening bazaar exploration: textiles, jewellery, handicrafts

DAY5

JAIPUR - FULL DAY

Forts, Palaces & the Magic of Rajasthan

Jaipur's full splendour unfolds today. Amber Fort at golden hour is one of travel's truly transcendent experiences - its hilltop silhouette reflected in the Maota Lake below, its mirror-encrusted Sheesh Mahal glittering in the morning light. The kaleidoscopic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) with its 953 latticed windows, the royal City Palace (part still home to the Jaipur royal family), and the astronomical observatory of Jantar Mantar complete an extraordinary day.

The panoramic views from Nahargarh Fort at sunset over the Pink City are among the most beautiful in India. An optional Leopard Safari at Jhalana Forest Reserve — one of India's rare urban leopard sanctuaries, adds a thrillingly wild chapter.

✦ Amber Fort - hilltop Rajput masterpiece

✦ Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds (953 latticed windows)

✦ City Palace - royal residence and museum

✦ Jantar Mantar - UNESCO World Heritage astronomical observatory

✦ Nahargarh Fort - panoramic sunset views over Jaipur

✦ Jaigarh Fort & Jal Mahal

✦ Optional: Leopard Safari at Jhalana Forest Reserve

DAY 6

JAIPUR → DELHI- FAREWELL

One Final Morning & the Road Home

After breakfast, savour Jaipur's remaining gems - the majestic Jaigarh Fort and the postcard-perfect Jal Mahal floating serenely on Man Sagar Lake. Then begins the comfortable six-hour private drive back to Delhi, filled with memories, photographs, and the quiet knowledge that India has changed you.

Your driver will deliver you directly to IGI International Airport for your departure — or to your Delhi hotel if you wish to extend your adventure. Until India calls you back.
