The Ultimate India Experience: Iconic Monuments + Royal Bengal Tiger Safari

There are journeys that change the way you see the world, and then there is India. And within India, there is this tour - a nine-day odyssey that gives you everything the country is famous for, and more.

The Golden Triangle Tour with Ranthambore Tiger Safari is our most popular India holiday package among travellers from the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. It combines the historic grandeur of Delhi, the timeless romance of the Taj Mahal in Agra, the untamed wilderness of Ranthambore National Park, and the royal splendour of the Pink City of Jaipur — all in one seamlessly designed itinerary.

Imagine your first morning in Old Delhi, the scent of chai and spices drifting through ancient lanes, rickshaws weaving past centuries-old mosques. Then the Taj Mahal at sunrise, glowing like a dream carved from white marble. Then Ranthambore, where the forest falls silent around you and a Royal Bengal tiger steps into view. And finally, the golden-pink walls of Jaipur, a city that still feels like a living, breathing royal court.

This is not just a tour. This is India, all at once.

Tour Highlights at a Glance

Day-by-Day Itinerary: Your 9-Day India Adventure

Every day of this tour is crafted to balance sightseeing, travel, rest, and magic. Here is exactly what awaits you:

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi - Your India Story Begins

Your journey to India starts with a warm, professional welcome. Our representative will be waiting for you at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), holding your name card, ready to escort you to your hotel in comfort.

After a long-haul flight from the UK or USA, you deserve to settle in gently. Freshen up, rest, and acclimatise. If you land early and feel adventurous, your guide can take you for an evening stroll through a nearby market — your first sensory encounter with India’s sights, sounds, and flavours.

Welcome to the world’s most extraordinary country. The adventure begins tomorrow.

Overnight: Delhi | Meals: As per flight

Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing - Old Delhi & New Delhi in One Epic Day

Delhi is not one city - it is many worlds layered on top of each other across 5,000 years of history. Today, you experience the best of both its ancient soul and its modern grandeur.

Morning: Old Delhi - Mughal Majesty & Chaotic Charm

Red Fort (Lal Qila) - A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the seat of Mughal power for nearly 200 years. Its massive red sandstone walls have witnessed emperors, revolutions, and independence. India’s Prime Minister still addresses the nation from here every Independence Day.

Afternoon: New Delhi - Colonial Grandeur & Architectural Marvels

Humayun's Tomb - Another UNESCO gem, this 16th-century Mughal garden tomb is considered the architectural predecessor of the Taj Mahal. Stroll its manicured Persian-style gardens and marvel at its symmetry.

Qutub Minar Complex - The world’s tallest brick minaret, standing 73 metres high, surrounded by ancient mosques and iron pillars. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and a monument to medieval India’s extraordinary craftsmanship.

Between these iconic sites, your guide will narrate stories of the dynasties, battles, and empires that shaped Delhi - making the history feel alive rather than like a textbook.

Overnight: Delhi

Day 3: Delhi to Agra - The Taj Mahal Awaits

This is the day travellers dream about for years before booking their India tour. Today, you come face to face with one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

You leave Delhi in your private AC vehicle and make the approximately 3.5-hour drive to Agra along the Yamuna Expressway. Along the way, the flat, sun-drenched plains of North India unfold around you - villages, fields, camel carts, and occasional peacocks.

The Taj Mahal: A Love Story in White Marble

Built by Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632 and 1653 in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is India’s most iconic monument and arguably the most beautiful building on Earth. No photograph, no film, no description does it justice. When you see it for the first time — its white marble glowing, its reflection shimmering in the long pool - you will understand why people weep.

Agra Fort: The Red Fortress of Mughal Power

Just 2 kilometres from the Taj, the Agra Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors. Wander through its grand halls, royal apartments, and mosques. From one of its towers, you can see the Taj Mahal in the distance — the same view that Shah Jahan gazed upon from his captivity in his final years.

Overnight: Agra

Day 4: Agra to Ranthambore - The Ghost City & the Tiger’s Kingdom

Today’s drive takes you from the marble romance of Agra into the wild, rustling forests of Ranthambore but not before a spectacular stop along the way.

Fatehpur Sikri: The City That Was Abandoned Overnight

En route to Ranthambore, you stop at Fatehpur Sikri - a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most mysterious places in India. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 as his imperial capital, it was completely abandoned just 14 years later, possibly due to water scarcity. Today it stands perfectly preserved, its sandstone palaces, courtyards, and the magnificent Buland Darwaza (Gate of Victory) silent witnesses to a vanished civilisation.

After Fatehpur Sikri, the landscape begins to change. Trees grow thicker. The air feels wilder. By the time you arrive at your hotel near Ranthambore National Park — one of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves - you will feel the unmistakable electricity of the wilderness.

Tomorrow, you go in search of the tiger.

Overnight: Ranthambore

Day 5: Ranthambore National Park - The Day You Meet the Wild

This is what wildlife lovers travel thousands of miles for. Ranthambore National Park is one of the finest places in the world to spot the Royal Bengal Tiger in its natural habitat. With over 70 tigers roaming its forests, it offers some of the best tiger sighting chances in India.

Morning Jungle Safari - When the Forest Wakes Up

You set out before dawn in an open-top jeep, the forest cool and misty. Birds call. Deer graze in the golden early light. Spotted deer, sambar, nilgai, langur monkeys, and marsh crocodiles are commonly seen. And then, perhaps, a flash of orange and black between the trees. Your heartbeat quickens. The tiger.

Ranthambore Fort - A Fortress in the Jungle

Between the morning and evening safari, visit the ancient Ranthambore Fort — a 10th-century hilltop fortress that rises dramatically above the forest. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site within the Rajasthan Hill Forts group, it offers commanding views over the park and a hauntingly beautiful blend of nature and history.

Evening Jungle Safari - The Hour of the Predator

The second safari in the evening brings a different energy. The light turns golden, shadows lengthen, and the predators stir. Tigers, leopards, and a rich cast of wildlife are more active in these cooler hours. Two safaris dramatically increase your chances of a sighting.

Wildlife You May Encounter: Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Marsh Crocodile, Indian Python, Sambar Deer, Spotted Deer, Nilgai, Wild Boar, 300+ Bird Species

Overnight: Ranthambore

Day 6: Ranthambore to Jaipur- From the Wild to the Royal

You leave the forest behind and drive to Jaipur, the celebrated Pink City and capital of Rajasthan. The approximately 3-hour journey is a treat in itself - rural Rajasthan unfolds outside your window: painted huts, camels plodding along dusty roads, women in brilliant saris, and the golden-brown landscape of one of India’s most colourful states.

After checking into your hotel, spend the evening exploring Jaipur’s vibrant bazaars. This is one of India’s great shopping destinations.

Jaipur Local Markets - Shop Like a Local

Johari Bazaar - India’s most famous jewellery market, with centuries-old shops selling traditional Kundan, Meenakari, and gemstone jewellery.

Bapu Bazaar - Colourful textiles, block-printed fabrics, leather jootis (traditional shoes), and Rajasthani handicrafts.

Tripolia Bazaar - Lac bangles, brassware, and the most atmospheric of Jaipur’s old markets.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day 7: Jaipur Sightseeing - The Pink City in Full Glory

A full day to explore Jaipur’s extraordinary royal heritage. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, Jaipur was one of the first planned cities in the world and its pink-painted buildings, grand palaces, and living royal history make it the most visually stunning stop on the Golden Triangle route.

Hawa Mahal - The Palace of Winds

The iconic five-storey facade of the Hawa Mahal is Jaipur’s most recognisable landmark. Built in 1799 with 953 latticed windows (jharokhas), it was designed so that royal ladies could observe street life without being seen. Today it is one of the most photographed buildings in India and for good reason.

Jantar Mantar - An 18th-Century Observatory

Built in 1734, Jantar Mantar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s largest astronomical observatories. Its massive geometric instruments were used to track the movement of planets and stars with astonishing precision. A remarkable reminder that science and art were once indistinguishable.

City Palace - Where Royalty Still Lives

The City Palace is the former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur and a stunning complex of courtyards, gardens, and museums. The royal family still resides in part of the palace — making it one of the few places in the world where you can visit a home that is genuinely royal.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day 8: Jaipur’s Hidden Gems - Forts, Lakes & Panoramic Views

Jaipur has more treasures than one day can hold. Today, you venture into the Aravalli Hills surrounding the city for its most dramatic landscapes and monuments.

Amber Fort - Jaipur’s Crown Jewel

Perched dramatically on a hillside above Maota Lake, Amber Fort is a masterpiece of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Built over centuries from the 16th to the 18th century, its highlight is the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) - a hall whose ceiling and walls are entirely covered in tiny mirrors, creating a dazzling effect when a single candle is lit. A truly once-in-a-lifetime sight.

Jaigarh Fort - The Fortress Above the Fort

Rising above Amber on the ridge of the Cheel Ka Teela (Hill of Eagles), Jaigarh Fort is the military stronghold that protected Amber. It houses the world’s largest cannon on wheels , the Jaivana and offers some of the most panoramic views in all of Rajasthan. On a clear day, you can see for miles across the desert landscape.

Jal Mahal -The Palace in the Lake

The ethereal Jal Mahal (Water Palace) appears to float in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, surrounded by the Aravalli Hills. It is particularly magical at dusk, when the fading light turns the water gold and pink. A perfect setting for photographs and quiet reflection on an extraordinary journey.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day 9: Jaipur to Delhi - The Journey Home

All great journeys must eventually end but the memories you carry home from this India tour will last a lifetime.

After breakfast, your private vehicle makes the approximately 5-hour drive back to Delhi. Depending on your flight time, you can rest at a hotel, explore a South Delhi market, or pick up last-minute souvenirs from Dilli Haat or Connaught Place. When the time comes, your driver takes you directly to IGI International Airport for a smooth, stress-free departure.

You leave India changed. The Taj Mahal, the tiger, the pink palaces, the ancient forts, the spices, the chaos, the kindness — India does not let go easily. It is a place you carry with you.
